1: Sieve together plain flour, cornflour, baking powder and salt. Add in sugar. Make a well in centre.

2: Stir butter into milk and add 3 egg yolks, mix well.
Whisk egg whites until stiff.
Add in 1/2 tsp vanilla extract.

3: Add milk mixture into dry ingredients, and gradually incorporate liquid to form a lumpy batter.
Fold in stiff egg whites.

4: Ladle a spoon into buttered waffle iron, close and cook until golden.
